We are seeking a Communications Director to lead all aspects of campaign messaging, media, and narrative strategy during a critical election cycle.

This is a dynamic, high-impact opportunity for an experienced political communicator who wants to shape a statewide race from the ground up and help elect a U.S. Senator.

The Role

The Communications Director will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive communications strategy that advances the campaign’s message, elevates the candidate’s voice, and operates effectively in a fast-moving political environment.

This role reports directly to the Campaign Manager and works closely with the candidate, senior staff, consultants, and coalition partners.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for press and media inquiries

  • Pitch and place earned media, including print, radio, TV, and digital outlets

  • Draft and edit speeches, press releases, op-eds, statements, talking points, and rapid-response materials

  • Oversee digital messaging coordination in partnership with digital staff and consultants

  • Prepare the candidate for interviews, debates, and public appearances

  • Track news cycles, opposition messaging, and political developments

  • Help shape narrative strategy across paid, earned, and owned media

Desired Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a Communications Director or in a senior communications role on a political campaign, in elected office, or at an advocacy organization

  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to translate complex policy into clear, compelling language

  • Demonstrated success placing earned media and building relationships with reporters

  • Strong strategic thinking paired with the ability to execute quickly and effectively

  • Sound judgment, discretion, and strong political instincts

  • Ability to work collaboratively while taking ownership of major responsibilities

  • Commitment to the values and goals of the campaign

Please submit:

  • A resume

  • A brief cover letter outlining your interest and relevant experience
