Political associate
Location: Maine (some travel required)
Salary: $4,000–$7,000/month, commensurate with experience
Start Date: Immediate
Graham Platner for U.S. Senate is hiring a Political Associate to support the campaign’s political program and help manage relationships across Maine. This role will work closely with campaign leadership to engage stakeholders, track outreach, and ensure strong coordination between the campaign and key partners.
This is a strong fit for someone who is organized, communicative, and comfortable managing relationships in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Political Outreach & Relationships
Support outreach to elected officials, community leaders, labor, and other key stakeholders
Help schedule and staff political meetings and events
Track relationships and maintain consistent follow-up with partners
Represent the campaign in meetings and at events as needed
Coordination & Strategy Support
Work with senior staff to support development and execution of the campaign’s political strategy
Coordinate across departments (Field, Finance, Communications, Operations) to align political work with campaign priorities
Help identify opportunities to expand the campaign’s reach and engagement
Tracking & Systems
Maintain and update backend tracking systems for political outreach and engagement
Build and manage organized lists and databases of stakeholders
Ensure accurate and timely information flow across the team
Events & Execution
Support planning and execution of political events and meetings
Prepare briefing materials and memos for the candidate and senior staff
Assist with logistics and follow-through for political program activities
Qualifications:
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
Sound judgment and ability to represent the campaign professionally
Willingness to work irregular hours, including nights and weekends
Prior campaign, political, organizing, or nonprofit experience preferred but not required

Compensation & Benefits
Salary range of $4,000–$7,000/month, depending on experience
